Paneer is a dairy product derived from milk,where as Tofu is made by coagulating Soy milk. The major difference between these two are Milk Paneer contains more Fat content where as Tofu Paneer doesn’t. Tofu paneer is low in calories and are rich in vitamins, protein and iron content. Tofu is of Chinese origin, whereas Paneer is of Indian origin.Also difference is Soy cheese vs Milk cheese.

Tofu paneer – 1 packet
Capsicum -1
Spring onion white – 2 tsp
Spring onion green – 2 tbsp
Soy Sauce -1 tsp
Tomato sauce -2 tsp
Garlic – 4
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
Salt as required
To marinate:
Corn flour -2 tbsp
Maida -2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
white pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp
Oil for deep frying
Tofu Paneer
 1. Wash the capsicum and cit them in dices. Also finely chop the spring onions green and white separately.
 2. Mix the ingredients listed under to marinate to a fine paste.
 3. Cut the Tofu Paneer in cubes. wash them in hot water and drain out completely.
 4. Marinate the paneer in the mixed paste and leave aside for 10 minutes.
 5. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them to a golden brown color. Keep it aside.
 6. In a separate pan, heat oil and fry finely chopped garlic.
 7. Add in spring onion white and ginger garlic paste. Saute for a while.
 8. Then add diced capsicum and fry well in low flame until they gets shrink.
 9. Add teh soy sauce and tomato sauce,sprinkle the salt and saute twice.
 10. Now add in the fried paneer and keep frying  until the flavor of sauce blends evenly.
 11. When the paneer becomes soft add a tbsp of spring onion green and mix well.
12. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with other tbsp of spring onion green.

  • This method of preparation can be used also to prepare milk paneer.
  • You can also toast the paneer in tawa instead deep frying. but tofu paneer tastes better when deep fried.
  • Washing the paneer in hot water gives a clean paneer cubes to use. 
  • Serve this dish as a starter in your dining.
