How to Make Matar Paneer Masala – The good blend of peas and paneer makes the most well known paneer recipe of North India that is Matar Paneer Masala. The scrumptious curry can be served at dinner parties apart from an ordinary lunch feast. Matar Paneer Masala can run well with Parathas, Naan or even rice. You can also choose either plain or fried paneer as you like it. And to make this tasty menu of Matar Paneer Masala richer and smoother you can add a few cashews and cream.

Ingredients on How to Make Matar Paneer Masala:
To Boling Peas:
- 2 Cups of Water
- 1 Cup Peas
- For Boiling Onions:
- 2 Cups of Water
- 2 Nos Onions
- To Frying Paneer Cubes:
- 2 Cups of Oil
- 12 – 13 Paneer Cubes
For Gravy:
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 2 Nos Bay Leaves
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 Green Chilli , chopped
- 1/2 Cup of Tomato , pureed
- 1/2 Cup of Tomato , pureed
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste.
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Leaves
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
Stepwise Instructions on How to Make Matar Paneer Masala
To Boiling Peas:
1.In a bowl of boiling water and add peas to soften them.
2. Make sure the peas swell up after boiling. Check whether they are boiled and switch off the flame.
To Boiling Onions:
1. At first, chopped Onions in long shapes for easy grinding and then boil them.
2. Then boil until onions become white and puff up a little.
3. After that switch of the flame, let them cool for some time and grind them to a fine paste.
For Frying Paneer Cubes:
1. Heat oil in pan and fry the paneer cubes until golden. Then fry them on high fire but watch out not to let them get burned.
Gravy Preparation:
1. Firstly, heat a tablespoon of oil in a heavy bottomed pan, then add cumin seeds and bay leaves.
2. Wait until it crackles then add ginger garlic paste and onion paste. Mix well and saute for a while.
3.Then add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. After that put the chopped green chilli and blend them thoroughly.
4. Then cook until the aroma of the spices released and oil separated from the spices
5. Now add the tomato puree and cook on medium flame until the ingredients mix thoroughly.
6. Now you can add coriander leaves and mix them again.
7. Then pour water and garam masala. And stir them until the water evaporates.
8. Add peas and fried paneer to it. Stir it lightly and coat them well with the gravy.
9. Then cook them thoroughly, place it in a serving bowl and finally garnish it with fresh coriander. Serve it hot.
Notes
- Use medium to hard paneer cubes for making Matar Paneer Masala or else the panner cubes may not get solved.
- You may use fresh or frozen green peas, before cooking boil them first
