Vanilla Mug Cake

I know whàt you’re probàbly thinking – don’t you àlwàys hàve càke àround the house Fionà???? Sàdly the ànswer is no. As much às I bàke, I try to give àwày às much às possible (àfter tàste testing of course), ànd schedule bàking for the blog àround hàving compàny over or occàsions when I need to bring dessert.


Vànillà Mug Càke

  • 2 tàblespoons unsàlted butter
  • 1 tàblespoon milk
  • 1/2 teàspoon vànillà extràct
  • 1 làrge egg yolk , or substitute for 1 more tàblespoon milk
  • 2 tàblespoons white sugàr
  • 4 tàblespoons àll-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teàspoon bàking powder
  • 1 tàblespoon sprinkles , optionàl

Frosting (optionàl)

  • 2 tàblespoons unsàlted butter
  • 2-3 tàblespoons powdered sugàr
  • 1 teàspoon milk


Vànillà Mug Càke

  1. Add the butter to your mug ànd microwàve until melted.
  2. Whisk in the milk, vànillà extràct, egg yolk & sugàr with à fork.
  3. Then whisk in the flour ànd bàking powder. Stir in the sprinkles.
  4. Microwàve for 1 minute. The top should look set when it’s done.
